My first sesh since Laragne in July 07 so great to be back in the air again.

I was a bit apprehensive about takeoff with the strong gusts but it turned out to be ok and once in the air, everything was a breeze.

Loads of thermals about to play in. Messed around the hill for an hour or so as did a few other paragliders searching for thermals. Quite a few came through but they were very small and bitty and had no real defining shape to them.
Eventualy things improved further and I managed to get a good grand above the hill. At this point, dad went for it on his paraglider for a glide back home.

I couldn't allow him to get home before me so I frantically searched for other thermals so I could go XC. 10 mins later I hooked into a 3 up and stayed in it until I reached cloudbase which in itself was very low at 3,500 ft asl.
At this point the lift started to peter out so I went for a glide back home. The sink was horrendous so by the time I got to Beacon fell, I knew I'd never make it all the way back so for convenience sake I could see dad below me having just landed so went for his field knowing it was a safe landing spot.

In all a cracking day but ashame cloud base wasn't abit higher to allow that long glide back home. A nice little 6K jaunt cross country anyway.
